Following is a summary of recent construction activities taking place in the building as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L lines so residents can return home as quickly as possible:

  • C Line work:
    • Joist replacement along the roof is now 99% complete
    • Roof decking is 85% complete
    • Parapet reconstruction is 65% complete
  • Roof abatement of the A Line is 99% complete
  • Interior framing of units and hallways at the Ground, First and Second Floors is 75% complete
  • Plumbing and electrical work has begun on the First and Second Floors
  • Re-occupancy of the A – L Lines is targeted for June 2018

Updates: October 17, 2017

The following is a summary of recent construction activities taking place in the building as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L lines so residents can return home as quickly as possible:

  • Remediation of the C Line is 100% completed.
  • Demolition of the prior parapet wall is 100% completed, with reconstruction of the new parapet wall now 50% completed.
  • Roof abatement on the A Line has begun and is expected to take 2 weeks to complete (weather permitting).
  • Joist replacement on the C Line roof is 98% completed.
  • Elevator replacement to begin this week.
  • Total re-occupancy of the A – L Lines is now targeted for June 2018.

Updates: October 5, 2017

The following is a summary of recent construction activities taking place in the building as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L lines so residents can return home as quickly as possible:

  • Roof joist replacement is at 95% completed
  • Parapet rebuild is 70% completed
  • 2nd Floor remediation is completed
  • 1st Floor remediation will be completed by the end of the week
  • Abatement of the Bank A roof will begin early next week

Updates: September 18, 2017

The following is a summary of recent construction activities taking place in the building as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L lines so residents can return home as quickly as possible:

  • All construction and renovation plans for repairing the entirety of the A-L lines have been approved by the DOB
  • Remediation on the 2nd Floor has been completed
  • Demolition of the parapet wall is 100% completed; reconstruction is underway and 45% completed
  • Joist replacement above apartments J through B is 80% completed
  • Temporary roof removal is 100% completed

Updates: August 31, 2017

The following is a summary of recent construction activities taking place in the building as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L lines so residents can return home as quickly as possible:

  • Equipment for the new elevator has been ordered
  • Horizontal members that provide structural support for the roof (“joists”) are being replaced and abated
  • Parapets are being rebuilt in tandem with joist replacement
  • All interior abatement on the Ground Floor through the 6th Floor is 100% completed
  • Demolition of the interior concrete masonry shafts is completed on Floors 1 – 4
  • All interior renovation plans have been submitted and are pending DOB approval

Updates: August 8, 2017

The following is a summary of construction activities taking place in the building as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L lines so residents can return home as quickly as possible:

  • All interior asbestos abatement is 100% completed on the 2nd Floor.
  • Asbestos abatement is underway on the 1st Floor, with Ground Floor abatement to follow immediate thereafter.
  • All parapets on Bank C side of the building have been removed and are now being rebuilt in conjunction with roof joist replacement.
  • Interior demolition on the 6th floor is continuing and is 50% complete.

SBA LOAN – 8/11 DEADLINE REMINDER: 

As has been communicated on this site and via email, residents and businesses affected by the April fire at 56-11 94th Street have until August 11th to apply for low-interest disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to repair or replace damaged/destroyed personal property

Please note that the deadline to submit applications for physical property damage is THIS FRIDAY, August 11, 2017.

Updates: August 1, 2017

The following is a summary of construction activities taking place in the building as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L lines so residents can return home as quickly as possible.

  • All interior asbestos abatement work is 100% complete on the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Floors. Areas abated include kitchen floors, corridor floors and insulated piping.
  • A temporary rubber roofing membrane has been 100% installed at the floor level of the 5th Floor. This renders the first four floors of Bank C waterproof as repairs continue.
  • Interior demolition and stud removal has been 100% completed on the ground floor through the 5th Floor
  • Joist replacement on the roof will begin tomorrow.
  • Architectural filing plans are completed and will be submitted to NYC Department of Buildings this week.
  • Mechanical filing plans are being completed for submission this week.

Updates: July 25, 2017

Following is a summary list of construction activities that took place at the building last week, as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L line to the highest standard so residents can return home as quickly as possible. 

  • Demolition of interior walls is 100% completed on the 5th Floor, 90% complete on Floors 1-4, and 10% complete on the 6th Floor
  • Interior abatement of the 4th Floor is 90% complete, with abatement work also underway on the 3rd Floor
  • Installation of a water-tight temporary roof on the 5th Floor is 95% complete

Updates: July 17, 2017

Following is a summary list of construction activities that took place at the building last week, as management continues to repair and rebuild the A-L line to the highest standard so residents can return home as quickly as possible.

On the A-L Line of the building

  • Interior abatement on the 5th and 6th Floors is completed
  • Architectural drawings are 80% completed
  • Repair on the roof and parapets are ongoing

On the M-U Line of the building

  • Elevator repairs are completed and service is restored
  • The 6th Floor vacate order has been lifted
  • Gas risers have been tested and restored throughout the M – S Lines, along with the following apartments: 2P, 3P, 5P, 6P, 1R, 2R, 3R, 4R, 6R, LT, 2T, 3T, 5T, 6T, 1U, 2U, 3U, 6U; management is awaiting access to the remaining apartments on this line
